Double skin facade systems

In the twentieth century, especially the technological improvements and the environmental pollution, which is the result of the increase in energy consumption have caused irreversable damages in ecological balance.. The notable amount of the consumed energy in the buildings all around the world has increased the importance of the energy- effective designs of construction. In this context, the envelope designs which notably contributes to the effective usage of energy in buildings and to this effect double skin facade systems, the classification of those systems and the analysis of the sample constructions applied around the world have been examined in this thesis paper.
