Abstract (EN)
Cladophora (algae) grows excessively in almost all rivers and lakesides and sea coasts in our country, reaching tons of amount. When these algae are not collected, it causes water pollution by putrefaction, which has a negative impact on the water quality of many dam lakes, some of which are used as drinking water. In the thesis study, the use of nanocellulose fibers is obtained from a green alga species, Cladophora, which is abundant in Turkey and causes environmental pollution when not recycled, as viscosity regulates additives self-settling mortars has been studied. By using nanocellulose fibers in mixtures, it is aimed to provide rheological improvement in mortars while at the same time improving the mechanical properties of mortars due to the fibrous structure of Cladophora. Mini slump, mini V funnel, compressive, and bending tests were carried out on the prepared mortars. Viscosity and yield stress values of cement pastes were obtained by creating Bingham model with viscometer device. As a result, nanocellulose fibers used in various proportions improved the viscosity, yield stress, and flexural strength of the mortars.
