Abstract (EN)

In this thesis we have successfully cloned L-glutaminase from Bacillus subtilis 168 genome and expressed in E.coli. Glutaminase is an important therapeutic enzyme that is used widely in many disciplines, ranging from flavor enhancement in food, manufacture of fine chemicals, analytic purposes, antitumor qualities in medicine, and more. Glutamianse holds great potential for future use as anti-cancer agent and research is being done for its successful employment in that field. Glutaminase has been purified and characterized in many living organisms but reports on its cloning are scarce which has prompted this research.
