N HAN SARIResearch About Children Books Illustrations And A Case Study'ABSTRACTIn this study, we deal with 'A Research About Children Books Illustrations And A CaseStudy'. In this relation this study is covered with its' definition, its' progress, its' relationswith art of miniature, what the main knowledge about children books illustrations must be,its' functions, its' types, the relation between the book and the children, the main properties,the physical properties and the properties of children books illustrations that mentioned in thisresearch.In the first section, we research the definition of illustration, its' origin, its' progress,its' phases, its' history from past to now in the world and in Turkey, the foreign and nativeillustrator, its' progress according to years, the phases from the first Turk miniatures(illustrations) to nowadays.In the second section, we dwell upon that how the children books' illustrationsmust be, the educational sides on a child, its' edition to emotion of aesthetic and its' additionto imagination, its' effect on child development, its' colors, its function of decorate,interpretation and informative, its' types and techniques.In the third section, we investigate the point of view of the relationshipbetween the child and the book, the education of the child, the effects of the life ofthe children when they get older, their interest, needs, perceptions andinterrogative ability in terns of positive development of the personality of them.Besides, we study the main properties and physical properties that must be in achildren book and the children's interest on a book at the age from pre-school totwelve.In the fourth section, we illustrate the story 'Sümüklii Böcek' by Tahsin YÜCEL byconsidering the properties that mentioned in this research.
