Researching the place and importance of children's plays in the curri̇culum of physical education and sports

This survey is prepared to determine the importance of children's plays in the curric-ulum of 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th physical education classes and to show that the acquisi-tions of physical education can be given more entertainingly to students with chil-dren's plays. Ay the same time, my paper is to explain that plays which are in daily life of children can be associated with acquisition of lesson in physical education class and can be converted an educational tool by showing that they haven't im-portance enough in the curriculum. In my paper will be dwelled on necessity of de-termining the curriculum of physical education and sports according to attention and requirements of children. Firstly, traditional children's plays are stated by researcher and are searched that how much do teachers know and how often do they use them. Survey is screening model and it hasn't a descriptive quality. Perspective of physical education and sports teachers on children's plays and existing state are evaluated with this survey. Data were acquired by making a survey to physical education teachers. The people who made this survey are determined by random sampling and it involves 57 female and 104 male physical education and sports teachers who work in Istanbul, Sakarya, Bingöl and Elaziğ in 2015-2016 school years. Data collection tool in this paper is a survey developed by researcher and a self-description form. Chi-squared tests and normality test are applied to analyze data. As a result of analyses, that is seen using of children's plays in physical education and gym class will be effective. In conse-quence of evaluation, physical education teachers are implied that they want to use games in education more active. But that was determined they don't have enough knowledge to perform education with plays efficiently. It shows that to use plays in education firstly, organizing seminars in which plays will be introduced to physical education teachers and be thought how they use plays in education is needed.
