Abstract (EN)
Picture, is a communication tool that reveals a person's inner world of thoughts, the mental and physical development. The pictorial features of the child begin with the first scribbling stage and develop in parallel with growth. When we look at all this development, children show the gains in intellectual and artistic sense with stains, shapes and vague lines resulting in their paintings. Children express us their concept perception, reaction, skill, feeling and thoughts in a powerful way with pictures than words. Moreover, these are made without planning in advance. Each child differently interprets his/her emotional state and transfers these into pictures through lines, symbols and signs. Children offer us a rich narrative by expressing themselves with simple, pure and direct lines. Lines, schemes, shapes and colors expressed in a pictorial way in children's drawings have been evaluated from an artistic view point. By taking quantity of exposition and characteristic features of the drawings of children into consideration, it is thought to give a new perspective to these values and in this regard it was aimed to create unique compositions on ceramic surfaces. Works will be prepared by using white casting clay and glazes in various colors, in search of different sizes and shapes. Ceramic works will be treated in two groups as relief panels and sculpture. This study that aimed at ceramic surface interpretation of children's drawings will include information on the pictures and historical development of children, child development stages of the painting, drawing features, use of color and creativity. This study; has been done with approximately 300 pre-schematic-stage (4-7 years) children at two kindergartens and four elementary schools in Ankara. Obtained drawings have been analyzed and collected theoretical and visual documents have been expressed in a new perspective blended with personal experience. In the last part of the study, plastic arts and technical analysis will be done. Works that place the relationship between pictures and ceramic art by creating a rich visual language of plastic are intended to give a new dimension to contemporary ceramic art.
