Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT VALIDITY AND RELİABİLİTY OF CHILDREN'S CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH PROMOTION ATTITUDE SCALE İN TURKEY Meryem Öztürk This research has done to test validity and reliability of Turkish form of children's cardiovascular health promotion attitude scale. Students (315) are attending to three different schools were participated to the research as the sample. All of the students are in 6th class and they are belongs to different socioeconomic levels in Izmir. The scale was developed by Arvidson has 16 items in 1990. The scale's internal reliability coefficient is 0.80.The instrument's content and construct validity are current. First of all, the scale was translated to Turkish language than it was applied to a group which has the same properties with the sample group. Scale was applied two times to the sample group; after pretest, re test was applied 15 days later, Turkish form of scale's internal reliability coefficient was found good level (0.75); subscale reliability coefficients were found between 0.50 and 0.74. After pearson correlation analyses is decided that any of items must not take out the scale. Test re test reliability coefficient for overall the scale was found average level (r= 0.58). Results of factor analyses has done to test the validity of Turkish form of scale showed form has 4 factors like original instrument and similar items are collected under the same factor. As a result, this form of children's cardiovascular health promotion attitude scale should be applied and evaluated which is reliability and validity to different groups. Key Words: cardiovascular health promotion, child, validity, reliability
