`the activities out of lessons which are applied bye the teachers of geography?s influence on teaching (Sampling of İstanbul city)

The approaches about teaching of geography are changing with the improvement of science, technology and communıcation. The main aim for the geography is to search for the reasons of geografical events. But the way that geography lessons are being learnt in the schools, with giving no importance to main reasons or teaching superficial information, is diminishing the value of this science. It is very essential for the students having a geographical thinking ability and understanding the main reasons and results of the events. We need new generations who is thinking and producing for our educational system and our people.This work has been done to measure how the benefits of the activities out of lessons are being gained by the students and measurıng the sensitivity of the students.148 teachers that is working in İstanbul?s official schools are subjected to the research. And 150 students from randomly chosen seven schools are being inquıred for this research.Percentage, frequency and arithmetic mean dissociation has been used while analyzing the datum. And there has been ?independent groups t test? to find out if there is a meaningful difference between the teachers and students opinions about the activities out of lessons. Then the quantitative results gained from the inquırıes have been supported with the qualitative results gained from the interviews and written at the ?findings and comments? part.According to conclusion; there is a meaningful difference between the students and teachers opinions about the application of the activities out of lessons.Key Words: Geographical Thinking, Teaching Geography, Geography and Practice, High School, Geographical Activities, Geography Teacher.
