Abstract (EN)
Nowadays, three-dimensional models have become a necessity for many industries. They are used in cinema industry, computer games, architecture and any field in need of virtual environment. Creating and object – SFM (Structure From Motion) is a low cost photogrammetry technique, which provides modeling an existing object, in this necessity of 3D models. This technique uses a series of 2D photographs to build a 3D model. Traditional photogrammetry techniques demands geometric parameters such as camera and ground control points to build a 3D model. Unlike traditional techniques, SFM automatically produces these parameters from photographs. In this study, optimum photo shoot strategies are researched for modeling architectural objects with SFM, and experiments are made with VisualSFM software. 3D reconstruction of Cleopatra Gate, which located in Tarsus district of Mersin, is produced with VisualSFM and CMPMVS collaboration, Autodesk Remake and Agisoft Photoscan softwares, in line of forged strategies. Accuracy comparison of 3D reconstruction model with laser scanning, built with various softwares, analyzed with CloudCompare and a performance analysis is provided. In the direction of performance analysis, reliability of expression of architectural objects with 3D reconstruction softwares from multiple photographs, and its contribution to architecture discipline is foreseen.
