Antibiotic resistance profils and transformation properties of enterobacteriaceae members isolated from drainage water of waste collecting area

Abstract (EN)

In this study, of the isolates from the waste collecting area drainage water, total aerob, total coliform, fecal coliform and the identification studies were performed. On these isolates the antibiotic resistance frequency were also carried out with common antibiotics these have been used for various infectious diseases. Plasmid elimination was performed with ethidium bromide, and the definition of conjugation frequency with conjugation were anvestigated between sensitive strains and the strains having plasmid coded resistance. All the samples tested were including fecal coliform. But, in different time periods, fecal contamination level were varied. For instance, while all the samples in firs period were having fecal contamination, on a certain degree, in the second period this level were sligtly decreased. Fecal coliform level were getting increased from satation 1 through the station 5. and an increase on fecal coliform level was obtained on hot period (6. and 7. period) as well. Total 81 of 138 isolates was identified as E.coli by biochemical tests. The antibiotic resistance of the isolates were investigated by antibiogram. All the isolates tested were sensitive to IPM and MER but resistant to AMP. On the other hand, resistance to CRP (2.8%9, CAZ (2.8%), GEN (4.3%), CRO (0.72%), FOX (22.4%), CTX(0.72%), and CZ (31.8%) were also determined. (^-Lactamase production were also investigated by performing "nitrocephin test" on 138 strains and 81 strain (59%) were positive for the enzym. Key Words: E.coli, Resistance, Antibiotic II
