Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between teachers' burnout levels and emotional intelligence levels according to some demographic characteristics such as age, gender, marital status, number of children, and seniority in the profession. In the study, Maslach Burnout Scale was used to determine burnout levels, Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Scale was used to determine the level of emotional intelligence, and Personal Information Form was used to determine the demographic characteristics of teachers. It is a quantitative study suitable for the relational survey model, one of the research survey models. The data of the study were collected by reaching 503 volunteer teachers selected by the easily accessible sampling method working in the 2020-2021 academic year. The analysis of the data obtained in the research was made using the social sciences statistics program. Moderate and high-level positive statistically significant relationships were revealed between the Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Scale and Maslach Burnout Scale's Emotional Exhaustion, Depersonalization, and Personal Achievement subscale scores. In addition, low and positive statistically significant relationships were found between Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Scale scores and gender and working variables in the field of graduation. Finally, low and negative statistically significant relationships were calculated between Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Scale scores and age and job satisfaction variables.
