Abstract (EN)
Advances in nuclear physics have made significant contributions to nuclear technology and have led to significant developments in many related areas. The main reason for these developments is the understanding of the structure of the nucleus and the development of physical theories underlying nuclear reactions. Therefore, knowing the properties of the nuclear reactions and the cross sections of the reactions provides an idea about the possible consequences of the reaction. When it is not possible to experimentally find cross sections of nuclear reactions in terms of both cost and conditions, reaction cross sections are theoretically calculated by various nuclear reaction codes. Since the 131Cs element has a shorter half-life and higher energy compared to other elements used in cancer treatment, the 131Cs element has been used in cancer treatments in recent years. In our thesis study, the cross sections of the 133Cs(γ,2n), 133Cs(p,x), 127I(α,γ) and 131Xe(p,n) reactions available in the EXFOR experimental data library to obtain the 131Cs element were examined. The theoretical results obtained with the TALYS 1.8 nuclear code program were compared with the data from the EXFOR data library.
