Akhisar Administraive District in the first years of the Turkish Republic (1923-1933)

It has manifested the short history, administrative and demographic structure of Akhisar including the last term of Ottoman State, the changes in this structure and the social, cultural and commercial life during the Republic with the tesis named ?Akhisar Administrative District In The First Years Of The Turkish Republic (1923-1933).? Thus it ensured to know better and recognize detailly the place where we are living in and also it has been showed how the new life style starting with the republic was perceived and practised in the country at the little perspective. At the begining, Because of understanding the later development in which coniditions and how, it was determined the geographical and historical background of Akhisar. After explaining Akhisar?s present location the study continued the Akhisar place in the Freedom war of Turkey. Related to the before and after the analized term, the development of the population and administration was reflected and underlined the progression of Akhisar. Research continued with Akhisar municipality and its activities considering the reconstituted municipal conception with the republic. It was tried to manifest the mayor?s serves, public Works and how Akhisar became an improved administraitve district during the first 10 years of the republic. Besides that, it was tried to take attention to the under which conditions today?s democracy had been built by analizing the organizational structures of Republic Public Party, the first party of the republic, and Free Republic Party, the second one founded in order to convert multi-partial system in Akhisar. The Education, sports and health subjects were analyzed in another part called social and culturel activities. In this part it is tried to manifest how Akhisar had transformed to modern life and achieved today?s culturel level. Bairam, some celebrations, interactions with the travelers, communication fields, perceptions of the revolutions in Akhisar were examined. At the end, the effects of the commercial progression started with republic to Akhisar, the tobacco became identical with the city and its steps were determined.
