Abstract (EN)
This study explores the development of Western music in Turkey, introduces Contemporary Turkish Composers by categorizing them into generations, and provides a technical and musical analysis of the following works: •İlhan Usmanbaş – Blue Triangle •Mete Sakpınar – Istanbul •Hatıra Ahmedli Cafer – Monologue II •Mahir Cetiz – 8 Epigrams •Armağan Durdağ – The Infinite Shades of Purple The study begins with background information on the composers, followed by insights into the compositional processes of the selected works. Each piece is analyzed in terms of form and harmony, with specific excerpts highlighted to discuss compositional and performance techniques, as well as musical elements. The analyses also take into account the composers' own notes and personal interviews.
