Abstract (EN)

Deixis is a word borrowed from Ancient Greek meaning "to mark, to refer". The term Deixis is becoming widespread as a "gösterim" term in Turkish. Deixis; it is of great importance to prevent and eliminate ambiguities in the fields of mother tongue learning, second foreign language learning, interlingual translation, speech and communication analysis, discourse or text analysis. It is the task of deixis to minimize such linguistic problems. Deixis has been a concept that was first discussed in philosophy as indexicals. The linguistic adventure of deixis, which differs from philosophical approaches and is a linguistic field in itself, started in the 19th century. Deixis is the subject of pragmatics, a subfield of linguistics. Linguists have conducted semantic and operant scientific research for the subject of deixis. These studies are not in the nature of a large typological research and are not at an adequate level. In this study, the definition of deixis was presented by scanning the Turkish and foreign literature. Later, the classification of deixis theory was included and the important place of Yule (1996) and Levinson (2003) in the field of deixis theory was indicated. The theory of deixis, which is an academic subject, has been applied to the "Dede Korkut", which contain the riches of the Turkish language, literature, history and culture and are important for Turkology in many ways.
