Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the temperature distribution and thermal stresses of a variable cross-section annular fin have been numerically investigated using the Pseudospectral Chebyshev Method (PCM). The study assumes that the annular fin is made of Functionally Graded Material (FGM). The mechanical properties of the Functionally Graded Material vary along the radius of the annular fin. It is assumed that the fin thickness changes linearly in the radial direction. This results in more complex energy balance and thermal stress equations, making analytical solutions more difficult. Therefore, the Pseudospectral Chebyshev Method has been validated for a fin with a uniform crosssection. Based on the obtained results, the temperature distribution and thermal stresses of the variable cross-section annular fin made of Functionally Material are discussed in detail.
