The Use of the picture in the decoration art and their reflections at the Turkish theatre

ABSTRACT Due to the influences of the picture to the decoration art, such as contribution impact to the visual expressions, sense, sensitive ambience, momentum, movement and etc., a support has been given over all ages. The picture, expressing in simply way the type and the place of the play has been used as decoration till the age of Renaissance. With the begin of the age of Renaissance, the influence of the perspective and painting, which is being seen as a important discovery at the art, pictures increased in their importance and continued its sovereignty till the end of the 19th century. The political, economical, social and technological developments and their variations of Europe, during the 20th century has caused, that artistic movements came into existence continously and the first reflections has been seen also at the picture art. Consequently, the decollation art, using the art of the picture only for place definition purposes, converted its use to a address implement, for the determination of the sence and interpretation of the play. The Turkish theatre, inclined in the 19th century to the west, has tried to adapt the Occidental illusonist structure to his own antiillusonist structure. But, the Turkish Society, not living the artistic movements of Europe and taking the Occidental as a model in the art of picture and decoration has proceeded a different expression in comparison to the West. The picture has been used at the Turkish Theatre for diverse purposes of the determination of the place of play. Firstly, the picture had been used as decoration, with directly painting on the curtains, later it converted to an implement, which contributes a support to the ambience of the play and brings the sence of the play to light. With the change of the artistic view in the resently time of the 20th century the value of the decoration have been left behind and similar to the european theatre it changed to an implement of a visual expression, supporting the interpretation of the play, more than the qualification of determining the place of the play. Currently, the Turkish Theatre has been following his way with protecting his own personality and in a parallel direction to the occidental theatre. VI
