An examination of the qualifications of professions in the fields of auditing, risk management and information technologies through job postings

The emergence of artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, data analytics, predictive analytics, robotic process automation, Internet of Things (IoT) and drones since the second half of the 2010s has led to digital transformation. In addition to phenomena such as globalization, speed and complexity of change, diversity of workforce, developments in communication technology and total quality management, digital transformation has become more important than ever before in the business world after the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak and has changed the qualifications of the workforce as in every field. In this context, the study aims to reveal the competencies required for existing professions in the field of audit, risk management and information technologies in the rapidly developing digital transformation in all sectors by examining job postings that reflect the real needs of the sector. In this context, 1014 job postings collected from www.kariyer.net for the employment of existing professions in the field of audit and risk in Turkiye were analyzed through content analysis. As a result of the analysis, when the most sought-after skills were analyzed, it was found that the soft skill set was demanded more than the technical skill set. In addition, it was observed that certificates were demanded at a very low rate in job postings, and it was evaluated that the maturity of certificate training was not at a sufficient level. Finally, despite the proliferation of technological tools with the spread of digitalization, the fact that Microsoft Office skills are still one of the most demanded skills in the technical skill set has shown that these professions ignore technical skills compatible with the requirements of the digital age. As a result, when the outputs of the study are considered as a whole, it is seen that candidates with strong communication skills, analytical mindset, command of English, teamwork skills, sector/process/special field experience required for the profession they will work in, and sufficient technology knowledge will be one step ahead in the labor market in the field of audit, risk management and information technologies. In this context, it is considered that these results will contribute positively to the key stakeholders of the study, namely candidates, educational institutions and employers in the audit, risk management and information technologies sector.
