Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of nerolidol on spexin immunoreactivity in the heart tissue of rats with experimental myocardial infarction(MI). For this purpose, 28 Wistar Albino or Spraque-Dawley male rats aged 8-10 weeks will be divided into 4 groups and the groups will be as follows; Group I (Control group) (n=7); No action will be taken during the test period. Group II; (Nerolidol group) (n=7); 100mg/kg of Nerolidol dissolved in corn oil will be administered by oral gavage for 14 days, which is the experimental period. Group III; (Isoproterenol group) (n=7); Isoproterenol will be administered subcutaneously as a single dose of 200 mg/kg and no action will be taken during the 14 days, which is the experimental period. Group IV; (Isoproterenol + Nerolidol group) (n=7); After a single dose subcutaneous administration of 200 mg/kg of isoproterenol, Nerolidol 100mg/kg dissolved in corn oil will be administered by oral gavage for 14 days. In the biochemical study for the evaluation of serum Spexin levels of all groups; When the control group was compared, there was no statistically significant difference in spexin levels in the Nerolidol group, while a statistically significant increase was observed in the Spexin levels in the MI group. When the MI group and MI+Nerolidol group were compared, a statistically significant decrease was observed in Spexin levels. As a result of the examination of immunohistochemical staining for Spexin immunoreactivity under light microscopy; Spexin immunoreactivity was observed in myocytes in heart tissue. While there was no statistically significant difference in spexin immunoreactivity in the nerolidol group compared to the control group, a statistically significant increase was observed in spexin immunoreactivity in the MI group. When compared with the MI group, a statistically significant decrease was observed in spexin immunoreactivity in the MI+Nerolidol group. When the control group and the nerolidol group were compared, no statistically significant difference was observed in the levels of Troponin-I, CK-MB, AST and LDH in the nerolidol group. When the control group and MI group were compared, a statistically significant increase was observed in Troponin-I, CK-MB, AST and LDH levels in the MI group. When compared with the MI group, no statistically significant difference was observed in the levels of Troponin-I, CK-MB, AST and LDH in the MI+Nerolidol group. In the biochemical study for the evaluation of serum TOS levels of all groups; While no statistically significant difference was observed in TOS levels in the control group and Nerolidol group, a statistically significant increase was observed in TOS levels in the MI group. A statistically significant decrease was observed in TOS levels in the MI+Nerolidol group when compared with the MI group. In the biochemical study for the evaluation of serum TAS levels of all groups; When compared to the control group, no statistically significant difference was observed in TAS levels in the Nerolidol group, while a statistically significant decrease was observed in TAS levels in the MI group. A statistically significant increase in TAS levels was observed in the MI+Nerolidol group when compared with the MI group.
