Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to obtain some selected comfort and performance properties of washed denim fabrics having different physical properties and to develop optimization models in order to use it in pre-production prediction. For this purpose, 13 denim fabric with different physical properties were produced in JNR MENSUCAT Holding (Kadirli), and by applying different washing processes to some of the produced fabrics a total of 27 samples were obtained. Then some selected physical and comfort/performance properties of these fabrics were determined experimentaly according to relevant standarts. These properties were listed as fabric weight, weft and warp yarn number, weft and warp density, weave repeat, fabric tensile strength, softness, air permeability and water vapor permeability. Various statistical analyses (K-S test, Runs test, regression analyses) were applied to the data obtained by using the SPSS package program. and thus the equations related to physical and comfort/performance properties which will be used in pre-production estimation were determined. Then, by using these equations as constraint, a total of 10 mathematical models were created in order to optimize each comfort/performance properties separately or to optimize multiple comfort and/or performance properties at the same time. Optimum solutions were determined by using LINGO 18.0 optimization software and the results were analyzed.
