Abstract (EN)
In the work presented in this thesis, an automatic screen changer filter is tested on a polypropylene carpet yarn producing machine. Filter unit is equipped with control system and instrumentation such that the automatic changing of filtering element is provided by using pressure signals or time as a controlling parameter. The filter system consists of three parts. The first part is used to filter impurities. The second part is used to provide necessary housing for the filter medium. The last part is used to control. A method based on capillary bundle approach and modified Darcy's law is set up for prediction pressure drop.
