Abstract (EN)
This thesis is about low speed high torque permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) which is used in elevator with commercial name of gearless (direct drive) motors. This motor is mounted in the elevator well, there is lack of adequate space for installation of the motor. The motor must lift a cabin with maximum load of 630 kg and speed of one meter per second in 2:1 suspension elevator system. In first chapter, introduction, general information is given about the thesis. Also, target and aims of this thesis is determined in purpose. And literature review present papers which are interesting in the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) and application of the in elevator industry. In chapter two, more detailed information is given about elevators and types of them. Among various kind of elevators, traction one is the type which is analyzed, then more information is given about this model. Some component of elevator system which is very important such as: driver, cabin, encoder and so on is introduced in section. In chapter three, more technical information is available about PMSM which is the main topic of this thesis. After giving some general definitions about electric machines, component of a PMSM is introduced. In chapter four, an analytical calculation is achieved with regard to the traction elevators system. Speed and the maximum load of cabin (speed = 1 meter per second and maximum load = 630kg) specify the power, torque and speed of PMSM; this technical information help engineers to calculate the main dimension of motor, copper winding sized and etc. In chapter five, an experimental test will be done on the motor which is available in the market. The technical information of this motor is as like as designed motor in chapter four. In chapter six, both designed motors given in chapter four and tested motor in chapter five are modeled in ANSYS Maxwell 2D software which is based on Finite Element Method (FEM). The methodology is validated by means the results of the experimental test and FEM simulations. In chapter seven, experimentally tested motor is redesigned and produced. The redesign aims were to increase the efficiency of motor and made it more compact, also made winding process simpler. After production of redesigned PMSM, it will be tested experimentally and analyzed under finite element method in ANSYS Maxwell 2D. In chapter eight, the results of analytically designed motor, experimentally tested motor and redesigned motor will be compared. Finally, in chapter nine, conclude the result of all activities in the thesis.
