Abstract (EN)
In this study, oxidative stress status and the role of Iron in Type - 2 Diabetes are discussed in detail. Iron is a vital element in chemical reactions in the body and is particularly determinant in oxidation. Diabetes of Type - 2 is of great importance as it affects the metabolism as a whole. In our study, in which the oxidative role of iron in Type-2 Diabetes, which is a major health problem today, was examined, 100 Diabetes of Type - 2 patients and 50 healthy participants were examined. As a result, it was found that oxidative stress was much higher in iron-deficient Diabetes of Type - 2 patients than in Diabetes of Type - 2 patients without iron deficiency. Oxidative stress load is significantly higher in Type - 2 Diabetes patients compared to healthy people. In patients with Diabetes of Type - 2 with iron deficiency, the oxidative stress load is higher than in Diabetes of Type - 2 patients without iron deficiency. Therefore, it is possible to talk about the existence of a correlation between diabetes and iron profile proxidation. KEYYWORDS: Type - 2 Diabetes, oxidative stress, iron, ferritin, insulin
