Abstract (EN)
The rapid advancement of technology has introduced a new concept into daily life and the economy, known as digital assets. These assets, which encompass a wide range from social media accounts and cryptocurrencies to online game characters and digital content, are gaining significance at both individual and commercial levels. Despite their increasing prevalence, there is a significant gap in the academic literature regarding a conceptual framework and, notably, a lack of instruments to measure individual awareness of this topic. The primary objective of this study is to develop and validate a reliable scale to measure digital asset awareness. Accordingly, a scale development study was conducted using quantitative research methods. The research sample consists of 573 individuals with diverse demographic backgrounds residing in Ankara, Turkey. The scale development process followed systematic steps, including a comprehensive literature review, item pool generation, expert validation, a pilot study, and subsequent statistical analyses (content and construct validity, reliability tests). As a result of the research, a multi-dimensional measurement tool named the "Digital Asset Awareness Scale" was developed, demonstrating high validity and reliability. This newly developed scale provides a foundational tool for future academic research in the field of digital assets. It offers a standardized instrument to measure the perceptions, attitudes, and knowledge levels of individuals and society concerning this emerging asset class.
