Abstract (EN)
The main aim of the study is to evaluate the impact of digital transformation on cultural consumption habits. Differences between digital natives and digital migrants are identified, and the changes in cultural consumption due to technology usage between these two groups are comparatively analyzed. The study aims to reveal the cultural consumption practices of individuals living in the city center of Eskişehir in terms of leisure time, emotions, education, shopping, and privacy. The data of the study were obtained through field research using observation and interview methods, and the analyses were conducted from the perspective of folklore using the netnographic research method. Thus, the differences in cultural consumption behaviors after digital transformation between two different groups with an intergenerational perspective were detailedly revealed. The differences between digital natives and digital immigrants are crucial for better understanding the effects of digital transformation processes on socio-cultural structures. Considering intergenerational differences in the management of digital transformation is important from the perspective of folklore. In this context, the development of education and awareness programs is proposed to facilitate the integration of digital migrants into the digital world. Additionally, for digital natives, raising awareness for the preservation and transmission of cultural values is important.
