Abstract (EN)

In recent years, the great progress has been made about to identify geological structures, to follow up active volcanoes and faults, mine and engineering researches by using latest technologies on earth sciences. Some of the universities and some of the Turkish companies or companies with a foreigner partners are spending too much money to get the latest technologies and they are trying to achieve their target by using this latest technologies. The remote sensing methods are used to decrease spending money and effort in the earth science applications. The alteration zones with clay and iron-oxid can be easily identified in the some areas by using LANDSAT images. This study is aimed that to determine the hydrothermal alteration zones in the working area. By using Erdas 9.2 software, LANDSAT TM and ETM+ images, band ratios, color composites and methods of pricinpal components analysis it had been determined that the alteration zones had been setled in the fields where the vegetation is rarely.
