Abstract (EN)

Mustafa ŞEKER, Examination of Home Accidents in Children with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder Diagnosed, Nursing Department, Graduate Thesis, Gaziantep, 2018. The study was carried out with 72 children in order to examine the house accidents of the children who had been diagnosed with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder in a state hospital located in the Gaziantep Provincial Borders. '' Socio-Demographic Data Collection Form '' and '' 15-Day House Accident Follow-up Form ''. The collected data were evaluated by the researcher using the package program SPSS 22.0 (The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences - PC Version 22.0). It was found that 83.3% of the children were male, 75.0% were between 7-12 years, 68.1% were born between 2501-3500 gr, 37.5% had breast milk for 6 months or less, 84.7% sleep. It was determined that 25.3% of the children were exposed to domestic accidents and 8.3% of the children had domestic accidents. The most common types of house accidents are; fall (75.0%), impact (12.5%), cutter / drill tool injury (8.3%). It was determined that 37.5% of all accidents occurred at the end of the row and the knee was the body region injured most (33.3%). There was a statistically significant relationship between home accidents and the average age of children with ADHD (p <0.05). The majority of household accidents were male, 7-12 years, sleeping 9 hours or less, 5 or more people living with children with 2 or more siblings.Attention deficit and hyperactivity impairment are the result of educating children and their families about home accidents and educating them.
