Abstract (EN)

During the implementation of education and training many teaching materials are used for teaching and student transfer issues. One of the most effective teaching materials used during the transfer and teaching of Language and Speech Course is book. However when text boks analyzed by examining it is seen that wheter it is in desired level or adequate in terms of readibility.In this study, 9-10-11-12 education classes of secondary education taught in Language and Speech in textbooks-excluding the theater, and poetry texts- legibility conditions which are effective in having students get the comprehension skills are tried to determine. For measurement, readability formula and the classification which Flesch developed according to word and sentence lengt and which was made available to Turkish by Ateşman (1997). In research made in document review mode. In all classes of secondary education Language and Speech textbooks, studied in the 139 text, and texts have been classified according to their being informative and narrative. As a result of research readability level of textbooks consist of as the ? Middle Difficulties? texts, and ıt has been described as ?Easy? level in terms of sentence and word length. In textbooks belong to four class level narrative texts are easier interms of word and sentence length and readibility levels when compared to informative texts.Key Words: Course Book, Turkish Language and Literature Education, Text Selection, Readibility
