Abstract (EN)
Zirconia materials, with their superıor propeıties, are ceramic materials that people use frequently as biomaterials notably for dental applications. For many years, different biomaterials have been used after any accident or due to the loss of teeth due to old age, illness or decrease in the functionality of tooth. Zirconia usage for dental implants is known as an ideal material because of its high mechanical properties and biocompatibility. The change in volume of zirconia used in dental applications with tetragonal-monoclinic phase transformation is a characteristic feature. Due to this situation which prevents the use of pure zirconia, zirconia is stabilized at room temperature by using different stabilizing oxides. in this study, into zirconia, Y-TZP which has high mechanical properties such as high hardness- stabilized with the addition of yttrium (Y203), Mg, which is known to have superioı· high temperature propeıties, and partially stabilized Mg-PSZ were used. After mixing the powders at certain rates, dry-press and cold isostatic pressing (CiP) are formed. After the forıning, the samples were prepared by using 1450-l 500°C sintering temperature and 1 -2 hours sintering time. The properties of the obtained samples such as Vickers hardness, phase rates, fracture toughness, post-sintering reduction, theoretical densities and water absorption rates were characterized and the suitability of the composite material which can be used as dental implant was interpreted. Keywords: Zirconia, Y-TZP, Mg-PSZ, Biomaterial, Dental implant.
