Abstract (EN)
It was found that there was a significant relationship between HbA1c and lipid levels. İn addition to dislipidemia, increased HbA1c level is an independent risk factor for stroke and coronary artery disease. The relationship between type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and non-alcholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) was showed in literature. NAFLD has a wide spectrum from simple fat accumulation to inflammation (NASH), fibrosis, cirrhosis, liver failure and hepatocellular carcinoma. Researchers have found that individuals who has diagnosed with NAFLD has 2 fold risk for type 2 DM and when NAFLD is accompanied by DM, there is an increased risk to have oncologic, cardiovascular and renal diseases. It has also been shown that type 2 DM disease is an independent risk factor for NAFLD. Screening for NAFLD is recommended in patients with prediabetes or diabetes who are at high risk or have elevated hepatic enzymes. It is thought that liver and dyslipidemia may also be related as a result of the mechanisms in which insulin resistance plays a leading role. In our study, we added FIB-4 and APRI indices, which are non-invasive and which we think can be used more widely in liver fibrosis screening in the future, in addition to lipid profiles and hepatic enzymes, to look at their relationship with glycemic control. We showed the relationship between HbA1c and lipid parameters and hepatic enzymes. We have shown that fasting glucose and GGT can be used to predict whether a patient may be in a poor glycemic control group. Interestingly, we found that FIB-4 decreased when glycemic control was poor. With all these results, we think that further studies are needed for non-invasive indexes in primary care. Key Words: HbA1c, dyslipidemia, hepatic enzymes, FIB-4
