Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out to determine irrigation water requirement and evapotranspiration of chickpea grown under Diyarbakır ecological conditions in 2007. The experiment was conducted in randomized blocks with 3 replications. The irrigation resulted in increasing of yield and yield components. However, there were no significantly differences among emergence and flowering duration, the branch number per plant, the number of empty pod and 100 legumes weight. The irrigation treatments caused to be later pod formation and maturity stages. In addition, the treatments increased 13.2-68.0 % of legume yield, 22.9-42.9 % of plant height, 14.7-89.9 % pod number per plant, 15.9-102.8 % full pod number, 15.9-73.2 % of legume number per plant, 36.5-50.6 % of biological yield and -23.1-46.2 % of legume number per pod.. The harvest index was found to be the maximum value as 39.6 % from the treatment in which irrigation was applied in the pod formation stage. Considering crop development stages under Diyarbakır ecological conditions, the legume yields were found to be 212 kg/da with 128 mm of irrigation water, 226 kg/da with 175 mm, 224 kg/da with 213 mm. for flowering, pod formation and legume formation stages, respectively.Key Words: Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.), irrigation, yield, yield components.
