Abstract (EN)
In this study, the concept of "figure" changing in the context of Nature-Painting relationship and "figurative" corresponding to the human (body) are mentioned. Study, the transformation process of the human figure we encountered in the art of painting from medieval Europe to the end of the 20th century has been studied comparatively with examples. Since the concept of nature has always been a variable concept depending on metaphysical assumptions during its historical development, it has been expressed in different meanings depending on the thought system and beliefs. It was seen that this situation affected the thoughts and behaviors of societies, as well as the artistic activities carried out at that time. For this reason, in this study, while talking about the art style of an era, the important events of that era and the effects of those events on art were investigated. The study of nature in the Renaissance that emerged in Europe at the beginning of the 15th century and the natural philosophy and humanist worldview that emerged at the beginning of the 17th century completely changed the view of nature and human beings in Europe. For this reason, the depiction of the human body, which has been one of the main forms of expression in western painting for centuries, has undergone change and transformation according to the traditional values of various cultures. We can say that these figures, which have emerged as a result of human mental processes, are the cultural forms of the 'nature' view of the people of that age directly
