Abstract (EN)

This thesis study aimed to propose an occupational safety performance measurement method to contribute to occupational health and safety in natural gas pipeline construction sites, to improve safety performance of construction sites, to prevent accidents, to prevent injuries and deaths, and to contribute to the elimination of material and moral losses. In this context, first of all, a detailed information about construction activities to be carried out in a construction of natural gas pipeline was explained. Afterwards, a checklist of 278 occupational health and safety items including the referenced literature was created under 15 activity groups in order to measure the occupational health and safety performance of natural gas pipeline construction sites. The issues related to the use of this checklist in the observations to be made at the construction sites were explained and a safety performance measurement method was proposed within the scope of this thesis. In the last section, the site occupational health and safety instruction for the pipeline constructions consisting of 159 articles, including the minimum occupational health and safety rules at the construction sites, was presented as the proposal of this thesis.
