In today?s modern architecture, natural stones are extensively used asconstruction and coating materials. For this reason quality of naturalstones from production to final product stage is important. Parallel withnatural stone exportation in last years, some characteristic standardsabout their quality are required by producers. In this study determination of slipping resistance that is significant duringdesign stage of natural stones which became final products wasexamined. Slipping angles of natural stones in question were calculatedaccording to DIN 51097 standard ?Determination of Characteristic ofBarefoot Wandered Wet Places that Prevents Slipping? by taking intoaccount different dimensions and surface treatment. Beside this physicaland mechanical characteristics of natural stones were determinedaccording to DIN standardof DIN EN 1936, DIN EN 13755, DIN EN 1926,DIN EN 12372. Chemical analysis (XRF methods) and mineralogical -petrographical characteristics were also examined and their effects onprevention of slipping were determined. After all these characteristics were determined, natural stones used wereclassified according to field of use in barefoot wandered wet floors.Key Words: Natural stone, slipping angle, DIN standard, wet floor.i
