Dr. K. Tuluhan YILMAZ : Yrd. Doç. Dr. Necattin TÜRKMEN This research has been conducted to put forward botanical properties of plant species in East Mediterranean of Turkey. Plants in East Mediterranean of Turkey and knowledge belong to them which are take places in different publication has been brought as standard data (such as systematic knowledge, life duration, life forms, chromosome number, flowering time, spores ripe, their squares, according to Grid system, location in East Mediterranean of Turkey, general distribution in Turkey and world, properties of habitat, distribution according to max. and min. altitudes, type specimens, description sites, endemizm, phytogeographycal regions, classification of endemic and non-endemic plant species under endangered in Turkey, Turkish names of plants, poisons plants, medicinal plants, industrial plants, usage as food, agricultural and ornamental plants). As result; total flora of East Mediterranean of Turkey were determinated as 4106 taxa which belongs to 927 genera and 145 families. Leguminosae (472 taxa) and Compositae (463 taxa) are the most dominant families in the total flora of research area. Astragalus (117 taxa) and Verbascum (80 taxa) are the first to genera according to taxa number. The number of endemic taxa are 996. Nearly total of endemic (993 taxa), take places in different endangered level according to Red Data Book. In regards phytogeographical region Mediterranean element with 1291 taxa comes in the first order. Irano-Turanien phytogeographical elements with 1017 taxa and Euro-Siberian element 358 taxa are fallows. The number of cosmopolite plant are 107. In the total, nearly 828 taxa have been usage as medical plants, but 465 taxa are classified as poisonous plant. Some plants in total flora have been use for food (238 taxa), ornamental (23 taxa), agricultural activities (78 taxa) and industrial proposes.
