Abstract (EN)

Cyprus refers to a problematic area that has come from the past to the present. The inability of Greek and Turkish Cypriots to live in peace under the Republic of Cyprus, which was established in 1960, and the increasing violence against Turks resulted in the division of the island into Southern and Northern. Diplomatic searches for the problems experienced have been fruitless with the inability of the Turkish and Greek communities to agree on coexistence or joint management. Dec. With the intervention of global actors in the problems between Turkey and Greece, the solution of the Cyprus problem Decayed, Cyprus' hydrocarbon resources caused the addition of the problem of energy resource sharing to the ongoing problem of the country. In this study, it is aimed to examine the possible effects of energy discoveries in the Eastern Mediterranean on the Cyprus problem. In order to achieve this goal, domestic and foreign literature related to the subject has been scanned, current tables and maps have been used for the subject and the most up-to-date sources have been used as much as possible to explain the process from the past to the present. As a result of the study; Conclusions were made in line with the developments regarding the possible effects of energy discoveries in the Eastern Mediterranean on the Cyprus problem.
