Abstract (EN)

Heat transfer occupies an important place in engineering applications, studying both heat transfer and fluid mechanics together is a popular field of study. In this study, controlled heat transfers to the surroundings of the cylinder heated in a water channel were researched. Firstly, the heat transfers for the single heated main cylinder were analyzed, and then the work continued with the placement of the control cylinder in the upstream region. The control cylinder used in the experimental studies was first used with flat geometry (non-corrugated structure) and then corrugated geometry (triangular, circular, rectangular) structure. SCADA (control and data recording system) control system has been designed to record experimental results and provide desired active flow control applications. By keeping the control cylinder in a fixed position (passive flow control) and then moving it in different angular oscillations and revolutions, it is provided by the servo-motor system and the datas is recorded. At Re=5000 (flow rate), the experiments were repeated at different L/D distance, different angular oscillation and rotational velocities within the flow field. The results obtained in different configurations of the master cylinder in the flow area where single, double, multiple and quintuple experiments were carried out were compared. Nu values calculated according to the temperature values measured within the extent of the thesis study represent the success rate of the experiments (positive effect on heat transfer).
