Abstract (EN)
This study investigates the effect of transformational leadership on organizational agility, focusing specifically on service organizations in Iraq. In an era characterized by rapid technological advancements, economic instability, and socio-political challenges, organizational agility has become a crucial determinant for success. The research explores how transformational leadership behaviors—such as inspiring a shared vision, promoting intellectual stimulation, and empowering employees—foster a culture of adaptability and resilience, which are critical for navigating complex and volatile environments. While extensive literature links transformational leadership to various organizational outcomes, the relationship between this leadership style and organizational agility, particularly within the service sector of emerging markets like Iraq, remains underexplored. The study found a weak but statistically significant positive correlation between organizational agility and transformational leadership, indicating that transformational leaders may help improve the responsiveness and adaptability of their organizations. Job position seemed to affect perceptions of transformational leadership, with employees rating it marginally higher than those in senior roles, even though gender differences in perceptions of agility and transformational leadership were not statistically significant. However, opinions on organizational agility were not substantially impacted by job position. Furthermore, participants' perceptions of transformational leadership and organizational agility did not significantly differ by age or work experience group, suggesting that responses were generally consistent across demographic variables.
