Abstract (EN)

The world has gradually been global, causing consumers? tastes/choices and their sales behaviours to change. Therefore a heavy competitive medium has appeared among the firms which wish to outwit their competitor, with such a competition creating concepts of branding and global brand. It is a long and demanding process for a global brand to appear which produces goods and services in universal standards for all global clients, which is why it seems neccessary for firms to universally progress, develop global brands and adjust themselves to a new world order according to these strategies.Concept and context of brand of great importance in terms of current firms, phases of their involvement in global markets, global branding gradually becoming vital thanks to globalisation, its importance for firms, global brand strategies, branding in Turkey and its associated position in global markets of Turkish textile sector in which branding has greatly progress, and related attempts to develop such a position are all fundamental issues of the present thesis.The aim of this study is to attract attention to the concept of brand that has become a significant feature for firms of both developing and developed nations to increase volume of trade and enter global markets and emphasise that the textile sector, one of the leading processes in Turkey should pay attention to the issue of branding instead of custom manufacturing output for other firms.Key Words: 1- Brands, 2-World (Global) Brands, 3- Branding in Turkey, 4- Development of Brands in Turkish Textile Sector
