Abstract (EN)

"Examination of studies on creativity in the world and in Turkey", Trakya University, Institute of Social Science, Basic Education Department, Master Thesis, Edirne, 2024. This thesis examines national and international literature on creativity in the preschool period through document analysis. By employing a qualitative research method, the study systematically analyzes the methods, findings, and main themes in studies on creativity in the preschool period. Initially, a total of 367 theses and articles were found in YÖK Thesis Center, ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global, ULAKBİM, and WOS. However, as these 367 studies did not align with the keywords, the number was ultimately reduced to 124 studies. From the searches conducted between 1980 and 2023, a total of 124 master's theses, doctoral dissertations, and articles were selected: 12 master's theses and 37 doctoral dissertations from ProQuest, 37 master's theses and 5 doctoral dissertations from YÖK, 21 articles from ULAKBİM, and 12 articles from WOS. The data obtained from the research were analyzed using content and descriptive analysis methods. In this study, a Research Review Form, developed by the researcher to examine the articles and theses accessed, was utilized. This form includes 19 items designed to align with the research questions. In this context, the findings of the research provide an opportunity to evaluate existing studies on how creativity can be supported in the preschool period from a broad perspective. The thesis concludes by emphasizing the importance of the diversity of studies conducted on creativity in the preschool period.
