Abstract (EN)

The teaching profession, which is one of the most important parts of the service sector, is a profession that requires intense emotional labor and therefore carries the risk of burnout. Teachers have a responsibility not only to the children they are responsible for educating, but also to the administrators in schools and under the Ministry of National Education, and to the parents who want their children to receive a good education for their future. In an environment with so many factors, teachers are the link between them all. In order to manage this process, teachers hide their real emotions, try to display emotions according to the conditions and exert high emotional labor. This research was carried out by examining the data collected by questionnaire method from 342 teachers working in Merkezefendi and Pamukkale districts of Denizli province. The data collected within the scope of the research were analyzed with the statistical program SPSS. Before these analyzes, validity and reliability tests of the scales were conducted. In order to examine the relationship between teachers' emotional labor and burnout, emotional labor scale consisting of three dimensions and burnout scale consisting of two dimensions were used. According to the results obtained, it was determined that superficial role-playing and sincere behaviors had a positive and significant relationship between exhaustion and feelings of distancing. However, no significant relationship was found between deep role-playing and burnout and distancing.
