Abstract (EN)

Considering that emotional intelligence consists of improvable skills that enable the individual to know and understand both himself and others, it can be said that the individual should use his emotional intelligence skills skillfully in order to experience success and happiness in both private and business life. This study aims to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and intrinsic motivation on textile industry employees. The data in the study were obtained by means of a questionnaire. The data of the research consists of a total of 207 employees of a textile factory located in Kastamonu. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that emotional intelligence affects intrinsic motivation. In this context, the sub-dimensions of emotional intelligence, such as evaluating one's own emotions, evaluating the emotions of others, benefiting from emotions, and controlling emotions; While the dimensions of evaluating one's own emotions and benefiting from emotions did not have a significant effect on intrinsic motivation, it was observed that the dimensions of evaluating others' emotions and controlling emotions had a positive and significant effect on intrinsic motivation. In addition, it has been determined that there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and its dimensions and intrinsic motivation.
