Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to compare the effects of regular football training on the motor development of 12-14 year old football players and students. Twenty licensed male football players who regularly train with a football team and 20 male students who do not regularly train participated voluntarily in the study. To compare the motor development of both groups, standing long jump, vertical jump, 10-meter and 20-meter sprints, and flexibility tests were administered. Additionally, height and weight measurements were taken to compare the physical development of the football players and students in both groups. The data obtained in the study were analyzed using the SPSS program. According to the findings, independent samples t-tests were performed to determine whether there were differences between the athlete and student groups in terms of height, weight, flexibility, 10-meter sprint, 20-meter sprint, standing long jump, and vertical jump. Whether the measurement scores showed a normal distribution was determined by examining the skewness and kurtosis values and histogram graphs. In height and weight measurements taken to compare the physical development of the group that trained regularly with the group that did not train regularly, no statistically significant difference was found between the two groups. However, in measurements taken to compare motor development, statistically significant differences were found in all values: 10-meter sprint, 20-meter sprint, standing long jump, vertical jump, and flexibility. Based on the data obtained, the lack of a significant difference in height and weight between 12-14 year old football players who trained regularly and those who did not train regularly suggests that regular training does not have a significant effect on growth and development. However, the statistically significant difference in favor of football players who trained regularly in the measurements taken to reveal the differences in motor development between the two groups indicates that regular training may have a positive effect on motor development in children aged 12-14.nra doldurulacaktır
