E-government applications in Turkey: An example of the town of İskenderun of Hatay province

Abstract (EN)

There is a quick change and development at information and development technology in this world where globalization has grown quickly and the borders has disappeared by the means of economy and so this has made the competition of improvement even more difficult between our country and the others. By the way Turkey, as the whole developing countries, has some advantages too, and also it is seen that Turkey faces to some disadvantages. Unless the strategies about information society are made and carried out the difference between developed and developing countries' economies will get bigger. E-Government is one of the important strategy about information society. So our state should use the developed technology and modern running technics all together in order not to be slow in this competition and it should pay attention to give importance to served he citizens. At this study the E – government applications will be defined and it will be given information about development process in Turkey, and also the using rate of e-government will be determined by the way of assessing the data level of teachers in province Hatay about the topic of e-government. Finally it will be tried to determine the projects which are the most used and people among the survey takers who use the e-government applications the most. Add to this the using of e- government applications demographic features and behaviours of the survey takers will be understood.
