Abstract (EN)

SUMMARYTaxonomically determined, dried and grinded plant material of Ebenushaussknechtii (Leguminosae) was studied by means of chemical and microbiologicalproperties. Several extractions were fulfilled to separate polar and apolar parts fromeach other. Various purification techniques, such as VLC, CC, PLC using differentbackfill materials according to each case, were carried out to separate and purify thecompounds having similar polarity. After the isolation and purification experimentsended, 6 natural products, the structures of 4 of which have been determined, wereobtained. In addition, the methylated hexane extract was investigated on the basis of GCand GC-Mass data and determined to contain essential fatty acids.The structural determination of pure compounds was carried out using differentchemical, chromatographic and spectroscopic [IR, UV, NMR (1D and 2D), and Mass]methods. After chromatographic and spectroscopic data were interpreted, the physicalproperties of the compounds such as specific rotation were measured.Antimicrobial activity of each extract (MeOH, Hexane, CH2Cl2, BuOH, andH2O) obtained during the work was examined against different bacteria and fungicomparing with Gentamycine as reference by using agar-disc diffusion method..81
