Abstract (EN)
This research aimed to examine the relationship between digital parenting awareness and digital addictions of teachers who are parents. In addition to this purpose, since teachers' digital parenting awareness and digital addictions were examined in terms of various variables, the research was designed with descriptive and relational scanning models, which are among the general scanning models. The population of the study consists of teachers who work in Ankara and Istanbul, where the internet is used most, according to TÜİK data, and who have children between the ages of 3-12. In this context, data was collected from 462 teachers using simple random sampling method. "Digital Addiction Scale", "Digital Parenting Awareness Scale" and "Personal Information Form" were used to collect data in the study. IBM SPSS 26 package program was used to analyze the data obtained within the scope of the study. In the analysis of parents' digital addiction levels and digital parenting awareness levels with independent variables, t-test, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), One-Way Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) and Pearson Correlation analysis were used to determine the relationship between dependent variables. In the study, while no difference was observed in teachers' digital addiction levels in terms of marital status, graduation level, school level, and second parent's (spouse) profession; Differences were observed in the variables of gender, age, length of service, duration and purpose of daily digital use, the most frequently used social media application, education on digital addiction, child age, the level of education the child continues, the duration and purpose of the child's daily use of digital devices. In the research, teachers' digital parenting awareness levels were determined by gender, the profession of the second parent (spouse), the duration and purpose of daily digital device use, the most frequently used social media, the level of education on digital parenting, the child's age, the level of education the child continues, the child's ownership of a digital device. , differentiation was observed according to the variables of the child's daily digital device use time and purpose; No differentiation was observed according to marital status, age, graduation level, number of children and gender variables. In the study, a significant relationship was found between parents' digital addictions and their digital parenting awareness.
