Abstract (EN)

Dânişmendnâme as a literary text In this thesis, a holy war epic written in Darende region of Malatya during XIXth century depicting historical personality of Danişmend Gazi is dealt with. This epic differs from the other manuscripts in the way that it was written in masnavi type. It's been discussed that whether Danişmendname or similar narrations have to be examined through our own textual methods, since those narrations have a feature which they can address to mutual memory of a nation. Therefore, we have scrutinized the intertextual method of the West, which we consider that it has directly to do with literary text, ideology and cultural transmission, comparing it with rhetorical elements of our own literary tradition. We, in light of the similar structure of it to intertextuality, have re-classified the rhetoric terminology which is considered that it stems from our identity and strictly tied to the survey of classical literature. We have striven to investigate the texts through the terminology with which we are familiar from the rhetorical studies in Turkish literature around minset transmission. Keywords: Danishmendname, intertextuality, rhetoric, ideology and mentality.
