Abstract (EN)

In this study boronized specimens have been used that is manufactured from AISI 1050 steel and pack borozing process has been applied to this specimens at a temperature of 800-850 and 900 ºC with a time duration of 3-6 and 9 hours. Ekabor 2 has been used as a source of boron. The photographs of micro structures of boronized specimens have been taken and the layer thicknesses varied from 17 to 110 µm and the hardness values from 510 to 1890 HV have been obtained. These values have been compared with Taguchi method. Boronized and non-boronized specimens have been subjected to abrasion test under the load of 30N by using sand papers which have grain size of 220 mesh. However these specimens have been sink into the 3,5% NaCl solution for corrosion test in order to compare the strength of materials between them.
