Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the use of Aluminum CNC Milling Waste (Al-CNCmw) as a stabilizer material in clayey soil. Various tests, including Compaction, California Bearing Ratio (CBR), Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS), and Consolidation were carried out. Clay and Al-CNCmw mixtures at various rates (5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% by dry weight) were tested at optimum moisture content and maximum dry density values of the mixtures. The laboratory test results indicated that the behavior of clay greatly affected by adding Al-CNCmw as stabilizer. The results have shown that, the CBR increased and the swelling decreased by increasing Al-CNCmw, and clay with 15% Al-CNCmw has the highest UCS value. In addition, the Consolidation tests was demonstrated that, the coefficient of permeability (k) and coefficient of consolidation (Cv) decreased, while compression index (Cc) increased by increasing the amount of Al-CNCmw content in the mixture.
