Abstract (EN)

In this study, the characteristic and the optical properties of some gemstones obtained from the Aegean Region were examined. For this purpose; aquamarine, almandine, smoky quartz, blue chalcedony, nephrite and colorless quartz minerals were selected. Induced Coupled Plasma (ICP) Before TL measurements, the samples were heated in order to erase the effect of natural radiation on gemstones. The samples exposed to different doses of X-ray and beta radiation were taken TL spectra in the range of 50-400 ° C temperature. Also, except for the optical absorption and TL measurements, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis had been done for aquamarine which is one of the investigated mineral. Thus a detailed investigation about aquamarine were obtainedIt was obtained a TL peak at 105 oC for aquamarine which seem to be a hexagonal structure with SEM photographs.There are three absorption bands at 450, 510 and 610 nm in the absorption spectrum of aquamarine.According to the study of literature, It has not been found any inventory that included TL and optical absorption properties of gemstones obtained form our country.
